Upgrade your plan
Whenever your usage outgrows your plan (or you want features another tier unlocks), changing plans is one click on /billing.
How
Only an organisation admin can change the plan. A member sees the plans on /billing but no buttons to change them; ask an admin on your team.
/billing → find the plan you want in the Plans grid → click Get started on that card.
A toggle above the grid lets you pick Monthly or Annual (annual saves about 20% and is billed yearly).
What happens next depends on whether you’re already paying:
- From Free — you go to Stripe’s hosted Checkout in the same tab.
- From a paid plan — there’s no second checkout. Your existing subscription is switched to the new plan in place, with proration, and you land straight back on
/billing. This works in either direction, up or down between Solo, Studio and Team.
Your current plan’s card shows Current plan and can’t be clicked, whichever interval the toggle is on. To change only the billing interval of the plan you’re on, contact [email protected].
In the checkout (first purchase)
- Pre-fills the email on your AgentValet account
- Asks for a card
- Charges the plan’s price for the first period
Complete payment. Stripe returns you to /billing?session=success.
What happens once the change lands
- Your plan flips to the new tier as soon as Stripe confirms it, usually within seconds
- Limits update (platform connections, governed actions per month, actions per minute, audit window). Agents are unlimited on every tier
- Features unlock or lock to match the tier (for example recipient constraints on Studio; push, anomaly detection, audit export and delegates on Team)
- Audit retention follows the new plan from then on. Rows are never purged before they’re 90 days old, so a move up doesn’t lose recent history
Plan changes mid-cycle
- Between paid plans — takes effect immediately; Stripe prorates the difference on your next invoice
- Down to Free — cancel the subscription from Manage billing (see Cancel subscription)
If checkout fails
- Card declined — Stripe surfaces the reason; try a different card
- 3D Secure / SCA challenge — complete it on the Stripe page
- Network error — go back to
/billingand try again
No partial charges happen — Stripe either completes the purchase or doesn’t. If you already have a live subscription and a plan switch fails, the card shows the error and your plan stays as it was.
Past-due state
If a renewal payment fails, your plan status becomes past due. An amber banner appears across the dashboard:
“Your payment failed. Update your payment method to keep your paid plan.”
Click Update payment method → to open the Stripe billing portal and add a fresh method. While the status is past due, governed calls are refused with 402 plan_inactive. Once a payment succeeds, the banner clears, calls resume and you stay on your current plan.
